There are a number of reasons why Mail Manager has been disabled or buttons are not enabled e.g.
• | Outlook didn't exit correctly and disabled its Add-ins |
• | An add-in is repeatedly slow to load (only applies to Outlook 2013 & 2016) |
• | Outlook didn't exit correctly and left one of the Mail Manager Add-ins running |
• | The Mail Manager Add-in is prevented from loading due to a user registry key issue (only applies to Outlook 2013 & 2016 Click-to-run installations) |
Step 1
Outlook 2010, 2013 & 2016 Ribbon
a) | Select the File tab on the main Outlook window |
b) | Select Options from the left-hand menu |
c) | Select Add-Ins from the left-hand menu of the Outlook options window |
d) | At the bottom of the window, change the ‘Manage’ dropdown to show Disabled Items and then click Go. |
e) | If Mail Manager is listed, select it and then click Enable. |
f) | Go back to the ‘Manage’ dropdown and select COM Add-ins and then click Go. |
g) | Ensure both Mail Manager Add-ins called: Mail Manager is ticked then click OK |
For Outlook 2013 & 2016 also see: Take control of your Outlook 2013 add-ins
Step 2
The MailManager.Startup.exe Windows process may not have exited after the previous Outlook session.
b) | Open the Windows Task Manager |
c) | Windows 7 select the Processes tab, or for Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 select the Details tab |
d) | If present select the process called MailManager.Startup.exe right-click and choose End Process |
Step 3
If none of the above steps worked use the Registry Checker to establish if there are any missing or incorrectly set registry keys
Step 4
If the issue persists, run a repair of Microsoft .Net Framework 4.6 (or 4.0 if this is installed instead).
Reboot the machine
Check the disabled items and COM-addins as per Step 1 above.
Step 5
Should none of the above resolve the problem, send 28Hands the OffCAT report (click the "OffCAT report" link for steps on how).
