Wireshark is the world's foremost network protocol analyzer. It lets you see what's happening on your network at a microscopic level. It is the de facto (and often de jure) standard across many industries and educational institutions.

 

Download the stable release for Windows from: http://www.wireshark.org/

 

Setup:

1.Install Wireshark (including WinPcap) with administrator permissions.
2.Open Wireshark, always run as an administrator e.g. Right-click and choose "Run as administrator"
3.Select "Interface List" and select the required network type to be monitored e.g. LAN or wireless
4.From the Windows Notification Area (bottom right-hand corner of the screen) select the Mail Manager icon and choose "Show Dashboard..."
5.Select Diagnostics > Enable verbose reporting mode
6.Close Outlook

 

Start Monitoring:

7.Select "Start" (monitoring will commence)
8.Open Outlook
9.Soon after the issue has occurred stop monitoring i.e. the red button on the toolbar.
Please make a note of the time, to the second, as per the PC’s clock when you saw the issue.

 

Send Wireshark logs:

10. From the menu select File > Save As, attach to the email below (item 13) for analysis.

 

Compose diagnostics report email:

11. Exit and restart Outlook - Outlook will now run in normal mode
12. From the Windows Notification Area (bottom right-hand corner of the screen) select the Mail Manager icon and choose "Show Dashboard..."
13. Select Diagnostics > Compose diagnostics report email... this will automatically create a new email containing diagnostics information
14. Send the email to support@28Hands.com
