Outlook Web Add-In (Preview)

The Mail Manager web add-in for Outlook will allow filing to locations in Microsoft 365 e.g. SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive

Note: Network folders are not supported.

 

The web add-in can be used with:

  • Outlook web mail

  • Outlook app for iOS

  • Outlook app for Android

  • Outlook for MAC

 

NOT supported on Outlook for Windows.

 

Please note that this option is only available for subscription licence users.

 

  1. Microsoft Outlook

    • Mail Manager add-in applied to your Outlook account

  2. Microsoft account type

    • Microsoft 365 Work or Microsoft 365 School

    • Personal accounts are not supported

  3. Email server

    • Microsoft Exchange Online

  4. Supported filing destinations

    • SharePoint Online

    • Microsoft Teams

    • OneDrive for Business

  5. Mail Manager for Windows

    • Subscription licence (check your licence details via Help > About Mail Manager)

    • Share locations with mobile devices enabled via User preferences Microsoft 365

  6. Mail Manager app approvals

    • The following apps need to be approved by your organisation using a Microsoft 365 administrator account

      1. Mail Manager Desktop

      2. Mail Manager Web Add-in

      3. Mail Manager Teams Discovery (optional)

The following steps are necessary to enable the Mail Manager web add-in for your users:

  1. Ensure the prerequisites are met

  2. If you are an administer wanting to deploy the Add-In to all users, see: Manage deployment of add-ins in the Microsoft 365 admin center

 

To set up the Outlook Web Add-In manually, follow the below steps

  1. Open Outlook in a browser e.g. https://outlook.office365.com/

  2. Select an email

  3. In the top right-hand corner select the 3 dots

  4. Then select Get Add-ins at the bottom of the list

  5. Select My add-ins on the top left

  6. Then select Get Add-ins at the bottom of the list:

  7. Select My add-ins on the top left:

  8. From the Add a custom add-in menu

  9. Select Add from URL... and enter: https://application.mailmanager.com/outlook-manifest

  10. Select OK

 

Enable Share Locations in Mail Manager User Preferences

  1. Share locations with mobile devices enabled via the Mail Manager Ribbon by navigating to Tools > User preferences: Microsoft 365

    Note that this must be done using a PC with Mail Manager installed which is logged on to your Office 365 account.

  2. Supported locations: Microsoft 365 locations (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams)

  3. Note: The add-in can take up to 12 hours to appear in Outlook
