WireShark
Wireshark is the world's foremost network protocol analyzer. It lets you see what's happening on your network at a microscopic level. It is the de facto (and often de jure) standard across many industries and educational institutions.
Download the stable release for Windows from: http://www.wireshark.org/
Setup:
1. Install Wireshark (including WinPcap) with administrator permissions.
2. Open Wireshark, always run as an administrator e.g. Right-click and choose "Run as administrator"
3. Select "Interface List" and select the required network type to be monitored e.g. LAN or wireless
4. From the Windows Notification Area (bottom right-hand corner of the screen) select the Mail Manager icon and choose "Show Dashboard..."
5. Select Diagnostics > Enable verbose reporting mode
6. Close Outlook
Start Monitoring:
7. Select "Start" (monitoring will commence)
8. Open Outlook
9. Soon after the issue has occurred stop monitoring i.e. the red button on the toolbar.
Please make a note of the time, to the second, as per the PC’s clock when you saw the issue.
Send Wireshark logs:
10. From the menu select File > Save As, attach to the email below (item 13) for analysis.
Compose diagnostics report email:
11. Exit and restart Outlook - Outlook will now run in normal mode
12. From the Windows Notification Area (bottom right-hand corner of the screen) select the Mail Manager icon and choose "Show Dashboard..."
13. Select Diagnostics > Compose diagnostics report email... this will automatically create a new email containing diagnostics information
14. Send the email to support@mailmanager.com
