SharePoint Metadata Uploader

 

Used to populate email metadata e.g. To, From , Subject etc. from your local index into SharePoint document library columns.

 

Prerequisite:

Requires the SharePoint document library columns to be in place prior to uploading.

Document Library columns created using the MailManager.Autodiscovery.exe tool, contact support for assistance.

 

 

 

In Use:

The SharePoint Metadata Uploader tool can be found in the Mail Manager installation folder e.g.
C:\Program Files\Mail Manager\x64
or
%localappdata%\Mail Manager\Program Files\x64

Open MailManager.Sharepoint.MetadataUploader.exe.

A command window will appear and uploading of the metadata will begin.

 

When complete a message saying "End processing results" appears in the command window

 

 

 

FAQ:

Qu: Does Outlook and Mail Manager need to be running?

Ans: Yes, If you close Outlook the command window will close and the process will stop.

 

Qu: When the metadata uploader is running will Mail Manager continue to index new items?

Ans: Yes.

 

Qu: How will I know when it's finished?

Ans:  A message saying "End processing results" appears in the command window.

 

Qu: Can multiple users run the tool at the same time?

Ans:  Yes.

 

Qu: What happens if you re-run the tool?

Ans: It populates missing metadata, updates existing metadata if it is different and skip metadata that is the same.
